| Job Description:
Responsibilities · Preparation and interpretation of "Request for Engineering Support" (RES) work instructions including labour and material estimates for Electrical products. Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Compliance and Expectations: To ensure your 100% compliance with the Safe Production Law of P.R. China and with GE's EHS Policy (20.3), all CTC employees must: understand and comply with CTC's EHS Policy, safety instructions and established job specific safety procedures and rules; correctly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE); obey PPE signals; complete applicable EHS training; participate in accident, injury & illness prevention activities; enhance their knowledge of risk mitigation and emergency response skills ; and timely report near-miss cases, unsafe conditions and acts. · Interpretation of international codes and standards, contractual information, customer specifications and system design specifications. · Preparation of Project documentation e.g. functional design specifications (FDS's), factory acceptance test (FAT) procedures, operation and maintenance manuals etc. and product support documentation e.g design record sheets (DRS's) for calculations, CE files, design review check lists etc. for specific Electrical products. · Conceptual design of Product in accordance with FDS requiring instruction of (and liason with) Designers to provide design schemes and subsequent detailed drawings. · Liason with project team identifying information shortages and blockers to progress. · Responsible for management of engineering work within pre-determined budgetary targets of engineering hours and material cost. · Extensive liason with suppliers and customers to discuss technical specifications, manufacturing queries, procurement queries etc. Will be expected to represent GE Oil & Gas in a technical capacity at any level (internally or externally). · "Time and Budget" management of off-line indirect engineering initiatives linked to engineering process improvements, feasibility studies, product development/improvement, product qualification etc. · Management of internal review process, concept design review, intermediate design review, final design review and associated communications, minutes. Qualifications/Requirements The following traits are essential · Electrical / Electronics background. · Ability to detail mechanical parts for manufacture. · Ability to work across disciplines and departments, production and manufacturing. · Understanding of low volume manufacturing principles and practice. · Time management skills and ability to perform to focused schedules. · Autocad 2009 proficient. · Degree Qualified (or equivalent). Desired Characteristics Desired traits · Working knowledge BS7671 : 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. · Working Knowledge AS3000, NIC1000 Wiring Regulations. · Working knowledge of ISO 13628-6. · Preferred knowledge ATEX, SIL, CE. · Understanding of materials resourcing and planning systems (Visibility/ EPIMS). Training will be given for these aspects but a knowledge / understanding would be an advantage. | |
